மதுரை பல்நோக்கு சமூக சேவா சங்கத்தின் தமிழர் திருநாள் பொங்கல் விழாவை தேனி கூலி பெண்கள் கூட்டமைப்பினர் 17-01-2023-ஆம் தேதி காலை 11:00 மணியிலிருந்து நண்பகல் 02:00 மணி வரை தேனி மாவட்டம், பொம்மையகவுண்டன்பட்டி, இந்திரா காலனியில் மதுரை பல்நோக்கு சமூக சேவா சங்கத்தின் செயலர் அருட்தந்தை.கபிரியேல் அவர்களுடைய தலைமையில் விளையாட்டு போட்டிகள் மற்றும் கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளோடு அர்த்தமுள்ள வகையில் கொண்டாடி மகிழ்ந்தனர். இந்நிகழ்வில் முந்நூறுக்கும் மேற்ப்பட்டோர் பங்கேற்றனர்.
பொங்கல் வைத்து வழிபாடு முடிந்த பின்னர் கலகலப்பும் உற்சாகமும் ஊட்டக்கூடிய பல்வேறு விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகள் நடத்தப்பட்டது. விளையாட்டு போட்டிகளை மதுரை பல்நோக்கு சமூக சேவா சங்கத்தின் நிர்வாக அலுவலர் முனைவர்.மோரிஸ் ஒருங்கிணைப்பு செய்தார். விளையாட்டு போட்டிகளில் குழு பொறுப்பாளர்கள், உறுப்பினர்கள் மற்றும் சங்க பணியாளர்கள் போட்டியாளர்களாக பங்கேற்றனர். அதன்பின் கலை நிகழ்ச்சி தொடங்கியது.
தமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்தோடு தொடங்கிய இந்நிகழ்வு பறை இசையின் ஓசையில் குதூகலமாகியது. திருமதி.அன்புச்செல்வி வருகை புரிந்த அனைவரையும் வரவேற்றார். வரவேற்க சொற்கள் போதாதென்று வரவேற்பு நடனமாடி வரவேற்றார சிறுமி தர்ஷினி
இந்நிகழ்விற்கு தலைமை பொறுப்பு ஏற்றதன் வாயிலாக இந்நிகழ்வை பெருமைக்குரிய நிகழ்வாக மாற்றி மகுடம் சூட்டிய மனிதநேய பண்பாளர் மதுரை பல்நோக்கு சமூக சேவா சங்கத்தின் செயலர் அருட்தந்தை.கபிரியேல் அவர்கள் தலைமையுரை ஆற்றினார். அவரது தலைமை உரையில் தமிழர் தினத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தையும், வரலாற்று பெருமைகளையும், இக்கொண்டாட்டத்தின் தேவையையும் குறித்து தௌ;ளத் தெளிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். மேலும் பொம்மையகவுண்டன்பட்டி இந்திரா காலனி தேனி கூலி பெண்கள் கூட்டமைப்பின் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்து பெருமிதமாய் எடுத்துரைத்ததோடு, அடுத்த ஆண்டுகளில் சிறுவர் சிறுமியர்கள், இளைஞர்கள், ஆண்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அனைவரும் பங்கேற்கும் வகையில் இவ்விழாவினை வடிவமைப்போம் என்று கூறினார்.
சிறுமிகள் கவி, ராகவி, ருத்ரா பாரம்பரிய வீர விளையாட்டான சிலம்பாட்டத்தின் மூலம் வீரமேற்றினர். தேனி மாவட்ட பணியாளர்கள் தேனி கூலி பெண்கள் கூட்டமைப்பு பெண்களுடன் இணைந்து மண்ணின் மணம் கமழும் கும்மி பாடலுக்கு ரம்மியமாய் நடனமாடினர். தேனி மாவட்ட வழிகாட்டி முனைவர்.மரியவில்லியம் இன்பத்தமிழ் எங்கள் உயிருக்கு நேர் என்ற கருப்பொருளில் கருத்துரை வழங்கினார். திருமதி.சூர்யா புற்றுநோய் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு வழங்கினார்கள்.
தேனி கூலி பெண்கள் கூட்டமைப்பு பெண்கள் கிராமிய பண்பாட்டு பாடலுக்கு காண்போரின் கண்களையும் உள்ளங்களையும் கொள்ளை கொள்ளும் வகையில் கோலாட்டம் ஆடி மகிழ்வித்தனர். திருமதி.காயத்ரி “பொங்கலோ பொங்கல்” என்ற தலைப்பில் தமிழர் தின விழாவின் தனித்துவமிக்க பெருமைகளையும் தொன்மையான வரலாற்றையும் கூறியதோடு, சாதியாலும் சனாதனத்தாலும் வீழ்ந்த தமிழன் அதை வீழ்த்துவதாலே எழ முடியும் என்பதையும் ஆணித்தரமாக வலியுறுத்தினார்.
திருமதி.சுதா மதுரை பல்நோக்கு சமூக சேவா சங்கத்தில் இணைந்ததன் மூலம் தாங்கள் பெற்றகொண்ட விழிப்புணர்வையும், கற்றுக்கொண்ட பாடங்களையும் அடைந்த நலன்களையும் புள்ளி விவரங்களோடு பகிர்ந்துக்கொண்டார். சிறுமி அன்புமொழி தன் மழலை மொழியில் உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துக்களையும், சிறுமி மீனாட்சி திருக்குறளையும் கூறி அனைவரையும் வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்தினர். திருமதி.கார்த்திஸ்வரி நன்றியுரை வழங்கி நிகழ்வை நிறைவு செய்தார்.
தேனி வட்டார ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் திருமதி.எஸ்தர்ராணி நிகழ்வை தொகுத்து வழங்கினார்கள்.
PONGAL CELEBRATION AT BOMMIYAGOUNDANPATTI

Pongal, the traditional and cultural festival of Tamilnadu was celebrated at Bommaiyagovundanpatti, Theni district by MMSSS as a joint venture with the federation of Self Help Groups of Bommaiyagovundanpatti on 17th January, 2023. Pongal is the celebration to thank the Sun, Mother Nature and all the domestic animals that contributed to the bountiful harvest. Around 300 members from our SHGs of Bommaiyagovundanpatti village took part in procession with their Pongal-Pot on their head to the temple to render their offering to the Deity.
Following that at 11a.m. fun games were conducted at the village ground with huge spectators. Dr. Morris, Administrative officer of MMSSS was the commentator and he conducted all the games and the people enthusiastically enjoyed his wits and well mannered commentaries with their active participation.
The cultural programmes started with the “Parai Isai” (drum-beating) which attracted the curiosity of the entire audience. Tamizh Thai Vazlthu was sung together with great respect for the language and the land. Mrs. Anbuselvi gave the welcome address and the welcome dance was performed by Selvi. Dharshini.
Rev. Fr. G. Gabriel, The Secretary and treasurer of MMSSS in his presidential address explained the large gathering about the various efforts taken by MMSSS to uplift the oppressed and he acknowledged the Co-operation of the Self Help Group members and other beneficiaries with great appreciation.
“Silambattam”, (fighting with long stick) a Tamil martial art was performed by Ms. Kavi Raghavi and Ms. Rudhra. ‘Kummi nadanam’ Tamil folk dance by Theni animators attracted the audience and won the applause of everyone. Dr. S. Mariawilliam, Programme coordinator of MMSSS in his keynote address on the ‘Tamil Festival’ briefed about the richness of Tamil tradition and culture which upholds the core values like equality, brotherhood, justice, hard work and gratitude. Selvi Deepika’s dance was enjoyed by everyone.
‘Kolattam’ a traditional group dance with colorful sticks was performed by the Federation of Theni Working Women and their choreography was well appreciated and received a big round of applause.
Thirukural couplets were recited by Selvi. Meenatchi and it was an awesome exhibit of her memory power. Ms. Sudha shared her success story and explained how she could avail the help and guidance from MMSSS to become a small entrepreneur.
Our Animators from kodaikanal danced for an awareness song which was followed by the Tamil letters recitation by a small kid Anbu.
Health Awareness Campaign:
A cancer awareness campaign was organized jointly by Caritas India and MMSSS. Mrs. Surya, Coordinator of DSC explained the huge gathering of ladies about the cancer disease and about the ways to fight and eradicate cancer. Her simple language and empathetic interaction made the message well-received.
Attractive prizes were distributed to all the winners of the games. Ms. Kartheeswari proposed the vote of thanks. The members of the Self Help Groups under the leadership of Mrs. Ponnuthai made the elaborate arrangements and they hosted a tasty lunch. Regional Coordinator of Theni Ms. Esther rani could make the entire programme in order. Mr. Eliyas raja, the District Coordinator with his entire team of Theni District organized the programme and made it a remarkable event which deserves the appreciation and acknowledgement.
