Madurai Multipurpose Social Service Society organized a program on 01.12.2024 for the distribution of educational support to 50 Dalit female Students. The program was presided over by the Most. Rev. Antony Pappusamy the Archbishop and President of the Society with the lighting of the Candle, symbolizing “HOPE” during the First week of Advent.
Following this the program started with the Welcome Address and delivered the introductory note of this program by Rev. Fr. G. Gabriel the Secretary and Treasurer of the Society. He recollected the initial stages of “The Jeeva Foundation” and the Evolution of the – “MADS Mädchen Aus Dalit- Familien Stärken: (Girls from Dalit Families) Project and explained the follow-up initiatives and efforts to contact the Donors after the demise of Rev. Fr. Jeeva to fulfill his dream of supporting and promoting the Education of the Female Dalit Students and shared the news about the sad demise of a Donor of this project. This program was originally planned at Kodaikanal for two days to give an opportunity to the students to visit Kodaikanal. Due to heavy rain this program was organized at Madurai and concluded his message by encouraging all the students to stay connected, continue to learn, and grow together.
The Archbishop in his message congratulated the students for remaining grateful to the Donors for having adopted each one of you. This is a countless opportunity provided through this project by emphasizing the importance of striving for higher Goals in all your life with dedication, hard work, and determination. He specifically distinguished that education is most important and it recognizes every one of you identifying and respected among the Society. He also shared the significance of sharing Love with everyone, especially during the time of Christmas, and invited to act with Love and Kindness by walking along with God, receiving His Blessings. The educational support in the form of a Cheque was handed over to all the 50 Students selected from Kodaikanal, Theni, Virudhunagar, and Madurai. The program was concluded with the sharing of a few students and a vote of thanks by Ms. Lydia the Coordinator SC & ST Commission.
