The program was conducted in Periyakulam partnership with Jeyaraj Annapackiam women’s college on 29.08.2023 with the theme of “Let’s join hands and save nature”. Mr. K.S. Saravanakumar, the sitting MLA of Periyakulam was kind enough to preside over the program and to inaugurate the Rally along with the Mr. S. Paulpandi, Municipal Chairman of Thamaraikulam. Rev.Sr.Dr.Jesurani, Principal, Jeyaraj Annapackiam Womens College, Periyakulam was generous enough to utilise the College Auditorium for the Program, permitting the whole College Students and endorsed the NSS Director to Coordinate the program and to participate the NSS Volunteers in the awareness Rally. Around 2000 Students participated in this program with an address on Environment by a renowned Resource Person and an Environmentalist Mr.Green Bose.
A Vehicle was arranged with Awareness Banners fixed in the Front and both the sides with Audio system. The NSS Students and the Panimayamadha Kolping Federation and the Kolping Group Members at Periyakulam participated in the Rally. The Rally was inaugurated by the MLA, Municipal Chairman and Principal of the College by 11.30am at the main gate of the Collage and started moving frontward with Awareness Banners, Placards, Kolping Flags, Slogans on Environmental issues and concluded at Thasildar Nagar by 12.30pm with Tree Plantation. The Police Personnel’s provided their support and clearing the Traffic movements. Followed by this the Rally was dispersed and the Vehicle moved to the adjoining areas at MathaKovil Street, St. Xavier’s Street, Muthuvel Nagar, Ambedhkar Nagar, Thenkarai and Vadakarai in Periyakulam. The Kolping Coordinator, Monitoring Team Members and field Staff of MMSSS accompanied the vehicle delivering awareness slogans and distributed the pamphlets.
