Madurai Multipurpose Social Service Society celebrated Christmas Day on the 19th of December 2024 at the Central Office. Followed by the Blessing of the Crib the celebration started at 11:30 am in the presence of Rev. Fr. Jerome Eronimus the Vice President of the Society in the Diamond Hall. The Parish Priests of the neighbouring Parishes, Members of the General Body, the Secretary, and the Assistant Secretary, Staff of MMSSS, Field Staff of all the Regions, and Well-wishers participated in the Celebration.
The celebration started with a Prayer song by the staff member Mr. Kulandaisamy and a welcome dance by Ms. Jenifer. The Secretary & Treasurer Rev. Fr Gabriel, greeted the guests delivered the welcome address, and shared the purpose of Celebrating Christmas throughout the Nation. Mr. Justin and Mr. Kulanthaisamy were facilitated for their service with MMSSS and settled their contribution of EPF and Savings with SEWA – Trust (Social Service Employees Welfare Association).
Fr Rajan the Assistant Secretary gave an introduction to the contents of the Quarterly Magazine of “Samuga Vizhigal” for the period October to December and that was released by the Vice President. The first five copies were received by Field Staff of the different Regions. The Vice President in his Presidential Address said “Amidst the pouring rain and the light of the star, in the humble guidance of a simple man, our Jesus was born. The three wise men brought gifts for him let us reflect on What gifts will we offer him in return for his love? Hence let us seek His blessings in everything, everywhere, and with everyone. Let us share the love he showed us and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”.
In between special events were conducted by the Staff of the Regions with awareness songs, and dance by the DB Tech students enhanced with their artistic performances and the dance by Santa Claus. Fr. Rajan, the Assistant Secretary, thanked all the participants and the Staff for the decoration of the Crib and the Hall. He also congratulated Ms. Thavamani and Gnanasasikala the “Master of Ceremonies “for systematically comparing the whole program.
